Market Evening Wrap 10th Aug. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 47,116.81pts with a gap of -6.81pts. Later on index posted a high of 47,272.88pts where a net change of 149.26pts was recorded. While a day low of 46,928.16pts with net change of -195.46pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 47,135.48pts with net change of 11.86pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 368.43 million shares with net change of 31.36 million shares or 9.30% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 128.24 million shares with net change of 21.06 million shares or 19.65%. WTL, TELE and ANL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 42.93, 29.44 and 28.43 and net price change of 2.68, 5.96 and 2.35 percent respectively.

Today, 381 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 173 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 22 companies closed with no change but 186 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. KHTC, SAPT and ARPL lead the price gainers with net price change of 18.86, 18.83 and 16.26 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side COLG, SFL and BTL remained top three price losers with net price change of -114.07, -53.80 and -29.50 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, TEXTILE COMPOSITE and CHEMICAL sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 121.44, 34.58 and 28.38 million shares respectively. CEMENT, FOOD & PERSONAL CARE PRODUCTS and PHARMACEUTICALS sectors have supported index by adding 18.00, 15.68 and 14.14 points, while on the other side POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION, COMMERCIAL BANKS and CHEMICAL sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -23.97, -18.65 and -11.69 points respectively.
