The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 47,830.73pts with a gap of 53.11pts. Later on index posted a high of 48,287.52pts where a net change of 509.90pts was recorded. While a day low of 47,820.00pts with net change of 42.38pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 48,251.49pts with net change of 473.87pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 1,039.34 million shares with net change of -315.82 million shares or -23.30% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 296.57 million shares with net change of -0.16 million shares or -0.05%. WTL, WTL and KEL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 329.07, 329.07 and 49.10 and net price change of 0.71, 0.71 and 0.00 percent respectively.

Today, 385 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 255 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 24 companies closed with no change but 106 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. RMPL, RMPL and ILTM lead the price gainers with net price change of 298.00, 298.00 and 125.88 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side WYETH, WYETH and MEHT remained top three price losers with net price change of -65.19, -65.19 and -35.00 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, CHEMICAL and POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 913.91, 128.22 and 117.20 million shares respectively. COMMERCIAL BANKS, TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION and VANASPATI & ALLIED INDUSTRIES sectors have supported index by adding 116.24, 109.15 and 35.76 points, while on the other side CHEMICAL, OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES and POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -21.51, -17.17 and -4.03 points respectively.
