Market Evening Wrap 10th Mar. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 44,274.28pts with a gap of 51.37pts. Later on index posted a high of 44,424.04pts where a net change of 201.13pts was recorded. While a day low of 43,620.84pts with net change of -602.07pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 43,691.68pts with net change of -531.23pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 363.20 million shares with net change of -129.08 million shares or -26.22% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 188.32 million shares with net change of -43.35 million shares or -18.71%. TRG, UNITY and GGL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 38.16, 25.04 and 19.18 and net price change of -5.16, -5.33 and 4.77 percent respectively.

Today, 359 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 104 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 17 companies closed with no change but 238 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. BATA, COLG and NESTLE lead the price gainers with net price change of 37.43, 36.82 and 21.33 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side MTL, PAKT and SYS remained top three price losers with net price change of -201.41, -69.75 and -30.28 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, CEMENT and REFINERY sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 73.10, 40.37 and 34.50 million shares respectively. INSURANCE, LEATHER & TANNERIES and PAPER & BOARD sectors have supported index by adding 6.75, 3.13 and 2.25 points, while on the other side TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, FERTILIZER and CEMENT sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -166.99, -95.57 and -69.11 points respectively.
