Market Evening Wrap 11th Jan. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 45,962.94pts with a gap of 308.60pts. Later on index posted a high of 46,109.36pts where a net change of 455.02pts was recorded. While a day low of 45,529.48pts with net change of -124.86pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 45,605.42pts with net change of -48.92pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 588.00 million shares with net change of -108.41 million shares or -15.57% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 264.62 million shares with net change of -192.96 million shares or -42.17%. SILK, HUMNL and BYCO remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 69.92, 64.06 and 61.52 and net price change of 11.93, 15.55 and -4.90 percent respectively.

Today, 377 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 160 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 16 companies closed with no change but 201 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. COLG, SRVI and BHAT lead the price gainers with net price change of 145.00, 35.38 and 31.00 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side SAPT, NESTLE and GLPL remained top three price losers with net price change of -47.61, -37.09 and -15.28 Pkr/share respectively.

Today COMMERCIAL BANKS, TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION and REFINERY sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 140.42, 92.48 and 84.68 million shares respectively. POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION, PHARMACEUTICALS and FERTILIZER sectors have supported index by adding 58.18, 39.17 and 15.33 points, while on the other side COMMERCIAL BANKS, TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION and TEXTILE COMPOSITE sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -34.37, -18.57 and -12.82 points respectively.
