Market Evening Wrap 11th Mar. 2020

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 37,897.37pts with a positive gap of 201.62pts during current trading session and moved towards its day high at 38,333.09pts immediately where net change of 637.37pts was recorded. But from that index started sliding downward and posted day low at 37,523.19pts with net change of -172.56pts before day end. While session suspended at 37,673.25pts with net change of -22.50pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 217.63 million shares with net change of -56.85 million shares or 20.71% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also faced a decline and settled at 173.82 million shares with net change of -52.12 million shares or -23.07% on DoD basis. MLCF, FCCL and HASCOL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 17.64, 15.98 and 13.43 million shares and net price change of -4.39, -0.43 and -0.98 percent respectively.

Today, 347 companies participated in trading at PSX floor and 100 out of these closed with net positive price change while 21 companies closed with no price change, but 226 companies closed with net negative price change. SAPL, SAPT and BATA lead the price gainers with net price change of 48.30, 47.49 and 31.70 Pkr/share. While on the other side ILTM, PMPK and SHEZ remained top three price losers with net price change of -90.00, -76.97 and -24.49 Pkr/share respectively.

Cement, Banks and OMCs sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 65.65, 22.48 and 18.84 million shares respectively. Banks, Pharma and Investment sectors have tried to push index into positive zone by adding 164.97, 28.22 and 17.13 points. While on the other side Exploration, Fertilizer and OMCs sectors have dragged index into negative zone by -100.65, -47.16 and -37.74 points with accumulated average price change of -2.47, -1.06 and -1.90 percent respectively.
