Market Evening Wrap 12th Aug. 2020

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 40,838.17pts with a gap of 279.02pts. Later on index posted a high of 41,117.08pts where a net change of 557.93pts was recorded.While a day low of 40,390.39pts with net chage of -168.76pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 40,473.18pts with net chage of -85.97pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 591.11 million shares with net change of -8.92 million shares or -1.49% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also setteld at 396.23 million shares with net change of -5.36 million shares or -1.34%. HASCOL, TRG and PRL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 87.31, 36.32 and 32.16 and net price change of -4.00, 2.15 and -0.67 percent respectively.

Today,345 companies participated in trading at PSX floor and out of these 75 closed with net positive price change. While 26 companies closed with no change but 244 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. RMPL, SAPL and SFL lead the price gainers with net price change of 225.00, 61.05 and 50.00 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side PMPK, ILTM and PAKT remained top three price losers with net price change of -74.90, -73.25 and -39.99 Pkr/share respectively.

Today OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES, TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION and CEMENT sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 105.11, 68.72 and 62.33 million shares respectively. POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION, FERTILIZER and CHEMICAL sectors have supported index by adding 45.49, 40.00 and 20.81 points, while on the other side CEMENT, OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES and OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -64.63, -37.50 and -26.90 points respectively.
