Market Evening Wrap 12th Feb. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 46,715.44pts with a gap of 71.15pts. Later on index posted a high of 46,935.32pts where a net change of 291.03pts was recorded. While a day low of 45,960.44pts with net change of -683.85pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 46,055.52pts with net change of -588.77pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 1,124.72 million shares with net change of 112.90 million shares or 11.16% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 366.03 million shares with net change of 51.63 million shares or 16.42%. WTL, TELE and KEL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 353.57, 97.50 and 47.09 and net price change of -10.12, -11.76 and -4.63 percent respectively.

Today, 369 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 93 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 10 companies closed with no change but 266 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. RMPL, AKDCL and MFFL lead the price gainers with net price change of 299.00, 34.89 and 18.05 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side NESTLE, PAKT and MARI remained top three price losers with net price change of -80.00, -59.00 and -36.08 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, CEMENT and POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 524.95, 149.13 and 59.32 million shares respectively. CEMENT, REFINERY and CLOSE - END MUTUAL FUND sectors have supported index by adding 64.34, 1.28 and 0.59 points, while on the other side COMMERCIAL BANKS, TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION and OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -152.10, -98.84 and -91.03 points respectively.
