Market Evening Wrap 12th Jan. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 45,735.71pts with a gap of 130.29pts. Later on index posted a high of 46,013.36pts where a net change of 407.94pts was recorded. While a day low of 45,702.69pts with net change of 97.27pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 45,922.04pts with net change of 316.62pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 825.89 million shares with net change of 237.89 million shares or 40.46% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 506.70 million shares with net change of 242.08 million shares or 91.48%. KEL, HUMNL and UNITY remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 250.24, 68.50 and 29.80 and net price change of 12.22, 10.09 and 7.06 percent respectively.

Today, 385 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 242 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 17 companies closed with no change but 126 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. MTL, KHTC and AKDCL lead the price gainers with net price change of 43.96, 34.03 and 23.05 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side NESTLE, GATI and MARI remained top three price losers with net price change of -109.60, -42.37 and -18.54 Pkr/share respectively.

Today POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION, TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION and COMMERCIAL BANKS sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 270.37, 119.25 and 84.53 million shares respectively. TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, COMMERCIAL BANKS and OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES sectors have supported index by adding 93.75, 88.42 and 46.82 points, while on the other side PHARMACEUTICALS, FOOD & PERSONAL CARE PRODUCTS and FERTILIZER sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -10.51, -7.07 and -4.81 points respectively.
