Market Evening Wrap 12th Mar. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 42,864.54pts with a gap of 84.78pts. Later on index posted a high of 43,986.18pts where a net change of 1,206.42pts was recorded. While a day low of 42,864.54pts with net change of 84.78pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 43,788.08pts with net change of 1,008.32pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 442.52 million shares with net change of 36.45 million shares or 8.98% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 169.80 million shares with net change of -27.13 million shares or -13.78%. UNITY, TRG and JSCL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 88.26, 38.84 and 17.74 and net price change of 5.02, -0.28 and -6.96 percent respectively.

Today, 359 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 267 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 21 companies closed with no change but 71 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. WYETH, SAPT and SRVI lead the price gainers with net price change of 70.12, 65.74 and 52.32 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side RMPL, SUTM and GATI remained top three price losers with net price change of -200.00, -60.25 and -26.00 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, VANASPATI & ALLIED INDUSTRIES and CEMENT sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 95.12, 88.26 and 37.97 million shares respectively. CEMENT, POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION and OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES sectors have supported index by adding 214.37, 79.08 and 69.44 points, while on the other side MISCELLANEOUS, CLOSE - END MUTUAL FUND and SYNTHETIC & RAYON sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -4.31, -3.57 and -1.21 points respectively.
