Market Evening Wrap 12th May. 2020

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 33,412.17pts with a gap of 128.38pts. Later on index posted a high of 33,628.37pts where a net change of 344.58pts was recorded.While a day low of 33,388.77pts with net chage of 104.98pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 33,603.02pts with net chage of 319.23pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 224.48 million shares with net change of 26.24 million shares or 13.23% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also setteld at 149.32 million shares with net change of 61.63 million shares or 70.28%. MLCF, UNITY and FCCL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 28.74, 23.14 and 19.07 and net price change of 6.74, -2.28 and 6.61 percent respectively.

Today, 335 companies participated in trading at PSX floor and 200 out of these closed with net positive price change while 18 companies closed with no change but 117 companies closed with negative net price change. COLG, BATA and FEROZ lead the price gainers with net price change of 69.95, 52.22 and 21.73 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side UPFL, PMPK and RMPL remained top three price losers with net price change of -250.00, -122.74 and -65.00 Pkr/share respectively.

Today CEMENT, TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION and VANASPATI & ALLIED INDUSTRIES sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 76.20, 28.70 and 23.16 million shares respectively. CEMENT, FERTILIZER and COMMERCIAL BANKS sectors have supported index by adding 163.41, 66.47 and 62.80 points, while on the other side Investment, OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES and INSURANCE sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -21.57, -15.67 and -13.38 points respectively.
