Market Evening Wrap 12th Oct 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 43,792.23pts with a gap of -37.12pts. Later on index posted a high of 44,051.16pts where a net change of 221.81pts was recorded. While a day low of 43,149.28pts with net change of -680.07pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 43,883.08pts with net change of 53.73pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 404.85 million shares with net change of 178.31 million shares or 78.71% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 188.66 million shares with net change of 99.87 million shares or 112.49%. WTL, TELE and TREET remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 51.14, 27.58 and 21.78 and net price change of -1.78, -4.17 and -7.49 percent respectively.

Today, 362 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 144 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 19 companies closed with no change but 199 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. ABOT, INDU and ATLH lead the price gainers with net price change of 19.96, 10.89 and 9.20 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side WYETH, PAKT and PECO remained top three price losers with net price change of -42.40, -42.33 and -29.83 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, COMMERCIAL BANKS and FOOD & PERSONAL CARE PRODUCTS sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 129.51, 53.43 and 27.54 million shares respectively. COMMERCIAL BANKS, CEMENT and ENGINEERING sectors have supported index by adding 214.85, 59.99 and 12.13 points, while on the other side TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION and FERTILIZER sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -113.33, -22.29 and -19.93 points respectively.
