Market Evening Wrap 13th Aug. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 47,320.31pts with a gap of 49.55pts. Later on index posted a high of 47,320.31pts where a net change of 49.55pts was recorded. While a day low of 47,123.38pts with net change of -147.38pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 47,169.84pts with net change of -100.92pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 213.22 million shares with net change of -16.84 million shares or -7.32% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 56.39 million shares with net change of -37.60 million shares or -40.00%. TPLP, GGL and WTL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 24.52, 23.91 and 11.43 and net price change of 7.50, 2.23 and -0.89 percent respectively.

Today, 365 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 147 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 24 companies closed with no change but 194 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. SIEM, WYETH and BTL lead the price gainers with net price change of 47.97, 37.50 and 33.91 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side ARPL, SYS and ICI remained top three price losers with net price change of -19.67, -16.81 and -9.07 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, CHEMICAL and MISCELLANEOUS sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 46.21, 27.55 and 26.11 million shares respectively. TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, COMMERCIAL BANKS and SYNTHETIC & RAYON sectors have supported index by adding 40.23, 33.54 and 1.83 points, while on the other side OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES, CEMENT and PHARMACEUTICALS sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -26.67, -19.39 and -19.25 points respectively.
