Market Evening Wrap 13th Dec. 2020

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 43,281.47pts with a positive gap of 74.42pts during current trading session and moved towards its day high at 43,453.34pts with net change of 246.29pts in next one hour. But bulls lost their control on market and it start sliding downward from that region and moved towards its day low at 43,037.72pts with net change of -169.33pts in a zig zag mode. Later on index recovered to settle at 43,218.67pts with net change of 11.62pts at day end.

Trading volume at PSX floor dropped by 33.95 million shares or 8.49% on DoD basis to settle at 366.14 million shares. While on the other side trading volume of KSE100 listed companies dropped by 34.42% or 104.5 million shares and settled at 199.07 million shares. BOP, SMBL and SILK remained top three volume leaders today with net price change of -1.28, 42.18 and 11.11% and net trading volume of 34.97, 34.94 and 24.79 million shares respectively.

Today, 354 companies participated in trading at PSX and 193 out of these closed in positive zone while 12 closed with no change but 149 companies closed with net negative price change. NESTLE, BATA and SRVI lead the price gainers with net price change of 99.00, 70.00 and 38.41 Rs/share. While on the other side PAKT, SFL and WYETH remained top three price laggards with net price change of -116.00, -42.70 and -18.37 Rs/share.

Banks, Cement and Technology sectors remained volume leaders with net trading volume of 123.62, 46.19 and 41.14 million shares. Banks, Textile composite and Technology sectors have tried to push index in positive direction by adding 31.48, 17.72 and 14.44 points with accumulated average price change of 0.8, 1.62 and 1.29 percent respectively. While on the other side Power, Tobacco and Fertilizer sectors have dragged index into negative zone by -34.02, -32.24 and -30.72 points with accumulated average price change of 0.17, -2.50 and -0.19 percent respectively.
