Market Evening Wrap 13th Jan. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 46,185.65pts with a gap of 263.61pts. Later on index posted a high of 46,314.15pts where a net change of 392.11pts was recorded. While a day low of 46,054.39pts with net chage of 132.35pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 46,091.96pts with net change of 169.92pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 845.20 million shares with net change of 19.31 million shares or 2.34% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also setteld at 466.27 million shares with net change of -40.43 million shares or -7.98%. KEL, PIBTL and POWER remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 110.62, 79.64 and 45.13 and net price change of -5.11, 3.13 and 7.93 percent respectively.

Today, 400 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 210 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 16 companies closed with no change but 174 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. NESTLE, SFL and GATI lead the price gainers with net price change of 74.60, 68.00 and 39.19 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side MTL, SAPL and GHNI remained top three price losers with net price change of -29.81, -8.90 and -8.68 Pkr/share respectively.

Today POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION, TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION and CEMENT sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 125.39, 100.96 and 95.05 million shares respectively. CEMENT, COMMERCIAL BANKS and TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION sectors have supported index by adding 74.02, 64.47 and 58.28 points, while on the other side POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION, AUTOMOBILE ASSEMBLER and Investment sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -23.09, -21.04 and -19.47 points respectively.
