Session Recap
The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 43,287.91pts with a positive gap of 69.24pts during current trading session and after filling the gap index moved towards its day high at 43,468.22pts with net change of 249.55pts in first hour of trading. Later on it started sliding downward in a zig zag mode and after expanding its intraday bearish corrections index posted the day low at 43,095.41pts with net change of -123.26pts. Before closing index tried to recover towards 43,277.96pts but session closed at 43,207.04pts with net change of -11.63pts.
Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 249.56 million shares with net change of -116.58 million shares or 31.84% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also dropped by 48 million shares or 24.11% to settle at 151.06 million shares. BOP, TRG and TPL lead the volume figures today with net price change of 0.08, -1.05 and 7.54 percent with trading volume of 18.02, 16.47 and 14.61 million shares respectively.
Today, 366 companies participated in trading at PSX floor and 170 out of these closed with net negative price change while 17 companies closed in neutral zone but 179 companies closed in negative zone at day end. SHEZ, MEHT and PRET remained top price gainers with net price change of 24.99, 21.00 and 12.80 Rs/share. While on the other side COLG, NESTLE and SFL lead the price laggards with net price change of -100.00, -75.00 and -38.30 Rs./share.
Sector Performance
Banks, Technology and Cement sectors remained volume leading sectors today with net trading volume of 44.69, 42.37 and 26.57 million shares. Fertilizer, Investment and Automobile sectors have tried to push index into positive direction by adding 40.04, 13.63 and 12.42 points with accumulated price change of -0.25, -0.31 and 1.95 percent. While on the other side Exploration, Chemical and Cement sectors have dragged index into negative zone by -71.85, -22.72 and -21.59 points with accumulated average price change of -0.90, -1.63 and -0.81 percent respectively.
