Market Evening Wrap 15th Jan. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 46,036.24pts with a gap of 46.89pts. Later on index posted a high of 46,177.38pts where a net change of 188.03pts was recorded. While a day low of 45,875.21pts with net chage of -114.14pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 45,931.00pts with net change of -58.35pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 531.01 million shares with net change of -89.57 million shares or -14.43% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also setteld at 221.93 million shares with net change of -64.47 million shares or -22.51%. HUMNL, POWER and FFBL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 66.33, 45.26 and 23.73 and net price change of 0.72, 4.27 and -0.94 percent respectively.

Today, 380 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 157 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 17 companies closed with no change but 206 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. SAPT, AKDCL and APL lead the price gainers with net price change of 49.99, 28.64 and 19.07 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side RMPL, PAKT and COLG remained top three price losers with net price change of -281.00, -62.22 and -48.98 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, CEMENT and POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 119.10, 78.27 and 36.14 million shares respectively. POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION, TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION and FOOD & PERSONAL CARE PRODUCTS sectors have supported index by adding 29.87, 23.10 and 16.95 points, while on the other side CEMENT, COMMERCIAL BANKS and FERTILIZER sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -32.31, -21.95 and -18.54 points respectively.
