Market Evening Wrap 15th May. 2020

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 33,893.41pts with a gap of 88.51pts. Later on index posted a high of 34,041.44pts where a net change of 236.54pts was recorded.While a day low of 33,822.38pts with net chage of 17.48pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 34,008.33pts with net chage of 203.43pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 212.72 million shares with net change of -27.35 million shares or -11.39% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also setteld at 122.06 million shares with net change of -5.93 million shares or -4.63%. HASCOL, KEL and MLCF remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 14.78, 12.22 and 9.88 and net price change of -1.69, 3.72 and 0.41 percent respectively.

Today, 305 companies participated in trading at PSX floor and 168 out of these closed with net positive price change. While 13 companies closed with no change but 134 companies closed with net negative price change at day end.UPFL, NESTLE and RMPL lead the price gainers with net price change of 499.00, 352.50 and 139.00 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side PAKT, IDYM and MTL remained top three price losers with net price change of -45.00, -37.00 and -24.49 Pkr/share respectively.

Today CEMENT, TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION and OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 29.71, 26.26 and 18.75 million shares respectively. OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES, POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION and CEMENT sectors have supported index by adding 101.74, 78.58 and 51.15 points, while on the other side COMMERCIAL BANKS, Investment and TOBACCO sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -51.98, -17.24 and -12.55 points respectively.
