Market Evening Wrap 16th April. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 45,289.61pts with a gap of 59.43pts. Later on index posted a high of 45,471.35pts where a net change of 241.17pts was recorded. While a day low of 45,269.03pts with net change of 38.85pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 45,305.63pts with net change of 75.45pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 173.52 million shares with net change of -174.15 million shares or -50.09% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 55.28 million shares with net change of -30.28 million shares or -35.39%. GGL, TELE and TRG remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 21.52, 21.45 and 16.20 and net price change of 7.49, 1.94 and 0.87 percent respectively.

Today, 326 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 180 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 18 companies closed with no change but 128 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. KELSC5, SAPT and BHAT lead the price gainers with net price change of 101.46, 58.28 and 54.90 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side NESTLE, PAKT and WYETH remained top three price losers with net price change of -84.67, -37.97 and -29.00 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, CHEMICAL and GLASS & CERAMICS sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 64.18, 25.78 and 10.98 million shares respectively. COMMERCIAL BANKS, TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION and AUTOMOBILE ASSEMBLER sectors have supported index by adding 28.50, 16.71 and 14.24 points, while on the other side TOBACCO, CEMENT and FERTILIZER sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -11.05, -7.57 and -7.39 points respectively.
