Market Evening Wrap 16th Aug. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 47,134.71pts with a gap of -35.13pts. Later on index posted a high of 47,173.03pts where a net change of 3.19pts was recorded. While a day low of 46,672.19pts with net change of -497.65pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 46,912.79pts with net change of -257.05pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 251.57 million shares with net change of 38.35 million shares or 17.99% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 88.22 million shares with net change of 31.83 million shares or 56.44%. WTL, TELE and TRG remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 22.21, 19.38 and 13.72 and net price change of 0.30, 1.05 and -0.49 percent respectively.

Today, 379 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 100 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 17 companies closed with no change but 262 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. TRIPF, BUXL and FIMM lead the price gainers with net price change of 14.87, 12.18 and 11.45 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side WYETH, NESTLE and SIEM remained top three price losers with net price change of -151.31, -90.99 and -51.56 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, FOOD & PERSONAL CARE PRODUCTS and TEXTILE COMPOSITE sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 73.80, 23.00 and 16.69 million shares respectively. ENGINEERING, VANASPATI & ALLIED INDUSTRIES and PAPER & BOARD sectors have supported index by adding 5.44, 5.09 and 3.70 points, while on the other side CEMENT, POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION and FOOD & PERSONAL CARE PRODUCTS sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -63.60, -28.28 and -24.87 points respectively.
