Session Recap
The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 43,012.80pts during current trading session with a positive gap of 19.77pts and take a dip initially to post its day low at 40,805.73pts with net change of -187.29pts but later on recovered its negative move and posted its day high 43,205.26pts with net change of 212.24pts. But before day end index took a 61.8% correction on 30 minutes chart and moved in negative zone with net change of -9.67pts while session suspended at 43,065.10pts with net change of 72.08pts after averaging mechanism.
Trading volume at PSX floor increase after three consecutive days of negative trend and settled at 229.71 million shares with net change of 58.46 million shares or 34.13%. While volume figures of KSE100 listed companies also surged by 32.05 million shares or 26.72% on DoD basis to settle at 152 million shares. BOP, WTL and TRG remained top three volume leaders with net price change of 4.44, -2.24 and -0.42 percent and trading volume of 60.34, 11.67 and 9.06 Rs/share.
Today, 343 companies participated in trading at PSX floor and 190 out of these closed with net positive change while 18 closed with no change but 135 companies closed with net negative price change. SHEZ, MUREB and SRVI remained top price gainers with net price change of 23.95, 16.13 and 11.00 Rs./share. While on the other side COLG, IDYM and AABS remained top three price losers with net price change of -125.00, -29.30 and-13.12 Rs./share respectively.
Sector Performance
Banks, Cement and Technology sectors lead the volume numbers with net trading volume of 81.14, 33.92 an29.41 million shares. Banks, Textile composite and Cement sectors have tried to push index into positive zone by adding 62.47, 21.33 and 11.62 points with accumulated average price change of 1.27, 1.69 and 0.43 percent respectively. While on the other side Exploration, Investment companies and Chemical sectors have tried to drag index into negative zone by -26.77, -18.85 and 17.90 points but they could not succeed in creating a noticeable impact.
