Market Evening Wrap 16th Jul. 2020

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 36,778.83pts with a gap of 99.80pts. Later on index posted a high of 37,029.25pts where a net change of 350.22pts was recorded.While a day low of 36,767.93pts with net chage of 88.90pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 37,001.44pts with net chage of 322.41pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 402.55 million shares with net change of 74.19 million shares or 22.59% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also setteld at 237.08 million shares with net change of 9.46 million shares or 4.16%. JSBL, MLCF and PAEL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 31.65, 24.85 and 24.10 and net price change of 12.59, 1.63 and 1.84 percent respectively.

Today, 343 companies participated in trading at PSX floor and 205 out of these closed with net positive price change while 11 companies closed in neutral zone but 127 closed with net negative price change at day end. UPFL, NESTLE and SAPT lead the price gainers with net price change of 175.00, 100.00 and 63.00 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side COLG, IDYM and PMRS remained top three price losers with net price change of -89.93, -44.32 and -37.54 Pkr/share respectively.

Today CEMENT, TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION and COMMERCIAL BANKS sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 66.54, 52.41 and 51.12 million shares respectively. CEMENT, OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES and COMMERCIAL BANKS sectors have supported index by adding 66.44, 60.67 and 54.87 points, while on the other side INSURANCE, TEXTILE SPINNING and MISCELLANEOUS sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -5.26, -2.70 and -2.04 points respectively.
