Market Evening Wrap 16th Mar. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 44,906.50pts with a gap of 139.91pts. Later on index posted a high of 44,910.93pts where a net change of 144.34pts was recorded. While a day low of 44,545.43pts with net change of -221.16pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 44,857.06pts with net change of 90.47pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 408.42 million shares with net change of -47.13 million shares or -10.34% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 168.58 million shares with net change of -71.03 million shares or -29.64%. UNITY, TELE and TRG remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 37.24, 35.61 and 28.55 and net price change of 4.97, 7.89 and 7.50 percent respectively.

Today, 368 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 156 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 25 companies closed with no change but 187 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. INDU, SAPL and IDYM lead the price gainers with net price change of 34.71, 33.33 and 32.52 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side RMPL, NESTLE and BHAT remained top three price losers with net price change of -291.00, -136.25 and -74.00 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, CHEMICAL and VANASPATI & ALLIED INDUSTRIES sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 113.11, 39.79 and 37.25 million shares respectively. CEMENT, TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION and OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES sectors have supported index by adding 198.11, 157.72 and 108.83 points, while on the other side CLOSE - END MUTUAL FUND, TOBACCO and PAPER & BOARD sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -3.49, -3.22 and -3.16 points respectively.
