Market Evening Wrap 16th Oct. 2020

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 40,097.74pts with a gap of 29.25pts. Later on index posted a high of 40,220.73pts where a net change of 152.24pts was recorded.While a day low of 39,742.25pts with net chage of -326.24pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 40,164.02pts with net chage of 95.53pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 254.12 million shares with net change of -70.63 million shares or -21.75% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also setteld at 155.50 million shares with net change of -56.43 million shares or -26.63%. HASCOL, UNITY and BYCO remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 57.52, 47.50 and 28.43 and net price change of 3.94, -0.44 and 9.99 percent respectively.

Today,325 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 179 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 20 companies closed with no change but 126 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. UPFL, NESTLE and COLG lead the price gainers with net price change of 1040.00, 178.75 and 148.99 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side MUREB, PMRS and INDU remained top three price losers with net price change of -48.75, -28.99 and -27.24 Pkr/share respectively.

Today OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES, VANASPATI & ALLIED INDUSTRIES and REFINERY sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 64.25, 47.50 and 43.68 million shares respectively. COMMERCIAL BANKS, VANASPATI & ALLIED INDUSTRIES and TEXTILE COMPOSITE sectors have supported index by adding 130.03, 11.39 and 7.75 points, while on the other side FOOD & PERSONAL CARE PRODUCTS, AUTOMOBILE ASSEMBLER and CEMENT sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -19.97, -16.93 and -7.67 points respectively.
