Market Evening Wrap 16th Sep. 2020

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 42,442.15pts with a gap of 95.73pts. Later on index posted a high of 42,544.87pts where a net change of 198.45pts was recorded.While a day low of 42,091.97pts with net chage of -254.45pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 42,282.28pts with net chage of -64.14pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 489.60 million shares with net change of -173.20 million shares or -26.13% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also setteld at 300.27 million shares with net change of -110.79 million shares or -26.95%. KEL, HASCOL and DCL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 70.58, 37.39 and 28.13 and net price change of -1.21, -1.54 and 5.44 percent respectively.

Today,350 companies participated in trading at PSX floor and 117 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 17 companies closed with no change but 204 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. HINO, BATA and KSBP lead the price gainers with net price change of 32.32, 24.35 and 15.92 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side PAKT, INDU and ILTM remained top three price losers with net price change of -70.00, -29.36 and -27.00 Pkr/share respectively.

Today POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION, CEMENT and COMMERCIAL BANKS sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 82.76, 65.64 and 54.05 million shares respectively. FERTILIZER, CEMENT and Investment sectors have supported index by adding 53.04, 28.62 and 19.24 points, while on the other side COMMERCIAL BANKS, OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES and POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -70.61, -32.47 and -28.71 points respectively.
