Market Evening Wrap 16th jul 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 47,627.61pts with a gap of -0.65pts. Later on index posted a high of 47,889.70pts where a net change of 261.44pts was recorded. While a day low of 47,627.61pts with net change of -0.65pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 47,834.33pts with net change of 206.07pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 348.51 million shares with net change of -157.59 million shares or -31.14% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 109.21 million shares with net change of -82.49 million shares or -43.03%. TPL, ASC and TREET remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 29.69, 17.75 and 17.09 and net price change of 2.70, 3.34 and 2.37 percent respectively.

Today, 376 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 223 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 24 companies closed with no change but 129 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. PRET, PECO and SYS lead the price gainers with net price change of 27.76, 26.12 and 24.61 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side UPFL, EXIDE and SAPT remained top three price losers with net price change of -489.00, -10.59 and -9.00 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, FOOD & PERSONAL CARE PRODUCTS and MISCELLANEOUS sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 76.63, 43.23 and 22.59 million shares respectively. CEMENT, COMMERCIAL BANKS and TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION sectors have supported index by adding 72.73, 69.36 and 51.23 points, while on the other side OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES, Investment and OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -27.56, -11.08 and -6.45 points respectively.
