Market Evening Wrap 16th jun 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 48,761.81pts with a gap of 129.25pts. Later on index posted a high of 48,878.20pts where a net change of 245.64pts was recorded. While a day low of 48,431.96pts with net change of -200.60pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 48,480.90pts with net change of -151.66pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 936.65 million shares with net change of -287.88 million shares or -23.51% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 409.18 million shares with net change of -290.21 million shares or -41.49%. KEL, WTL and BYCO remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 114.97, 87.35 and 63.18 and net price change of -4.69, -3.27 and -1.23 percent respectively.

Today, 388 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 160 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 22 companies closed with no change but 206 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. PAKT, WYETH and SRVI lead the price gainers with net price change of 60.00, 46.57 and 20.58 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side UPFL, RMPL and COLG remained top three price losers with net price change of -250.00, -234.55 and -98.89 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION and REFINERY sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 153.20, 131.84 and 92.45 million shares respectively. TEXTILE COMPOSITE, TOBACCO and LEATHER & TANNERIES sectors have supported index by adding 26.28, 17.56 and 7.63 points, while on the other side CEMENT, Investment and COMMERCIAL BANKS sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -54.77, -49.13 and -47.20 points respectively.
