Market Evening Wrap 17th Aug. 2020

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 40,294.02pts with a gap of 3.28pts. Later on index posted a high of 40,405.41pts where a net change of 114.67pts was recorded.While a day low of 39,939.69pts with net chage of -351.05pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 40,122.50pts with net chage of -168.24pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 522.61 million shares with net change of -33.48 million shares or -6.02% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also setteld at 346.72 million shares with net change of 4.59 million shares or 1.34%. UNITY, UNITY and HASCOL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 37.37, 37.37 and 35.31 and net price change of 2.59, 2.59 and 0.61 percent respectively.

Today,343 companies participated in trading at PSX floor and out of these 174 closed with net positive price change. While 20 companies closed with no change but 149 companies closed with net negative price change at day end.UPFL, UPFL and ABOT lead the price gainers with net price change of 210.00, 210.00 and 38.40 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side SAPT, SAPT and ENGRO remained top three price losers with net price change of -44.50, -44.50 and -16.11 Pkr/share respectively.

Today OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES, POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION and TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 144.73, 135.39 and 98.77 million shares respectively. OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES, PHARMACEUTICALS and OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES sectors have supported index by adding 99.71, 33.79 and 30.88 points, while on the other side FERTILIZER, POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION and COMMERCIAL BANKS sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -156.32, -127.70 and -63.57 points respectively.
