Market Evening Wrap 17th Aug. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 46,947.65pts with a gap of 34.86pts. Later on index posted a high of 47,274.52pts where a net change of 361.73pts was recorded. While a day low of 46,947.65pts with net change of 34.86pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 47,258.45pts with net change of 345.66pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 246.04 million shares with net change of -5.53 million shares or -2.20% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 81.90 million shares with net change of -6.32 million shares or -7.17%. TPLP, GGL and TRG remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 30.98, 16.97 and 14.07 and net price change of 7.45, 2.86 and 0.73 percent respectively.

Today, 367 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 253 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 19 companies closed with no change but 95 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. COLG, SAPT and MTL lead the price gainers with net price change of 69.99, 23.79 and 13.23 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side WYETH, SIEM and ARPL remained top three price losers with net price change of -139.96, -11.03 and -6.78 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, MISCELLANEOUS and CHEMICAL sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 50.94, 33.07 and 28.50 million shares respectively. POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION, OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES and CEMENT sectors have supported index by adding 98.96, 39.66 and 37.38 points, while on the other side Investment, GLASS & CERAMICS and FOOD & PERSONAL CARE PRODUCTS sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -6.53, -3.68 and -2.95 points respectively.
