Market Evening Wrap 17th Dec. 2020

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 43,093.16pts with a positive gap of 28.06pts during current trading session and moved towards a high of 43,241.39pts with net change of 176.29pts in next one hour. But from that levels bulls lost their control on market and index posted its day low at 43,017.50pts with net change of -47.59pts during second half of trading while again index recovered before closing and posted day high of 43,246.61pts with net change of 181.52pts. While session closed at 43,167.77pts with net change of 102.68pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor dropped by 18.46 million shares or 8.03% on DoD basis to settle at 211.41 million shares. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also followed the trend and settled at 125.33 million shares with net change of -26.8 million shares or 17.62% on DoD basis. BOP, TRG and WTL lead the volume leaders with net change of -1.63, 1.24 and -1.54 percent and net trading volume of 27.83, 23.98 and 8.59 million shares respectively.

Today, 350 companies participated in trading at PSX floor and 172 out f these closed in positive zone but 26 companies close with no change but 152 companies closed with net negative price change. PMPK, PSEL, BATA lead the price gainers with net price change of 77.10, 47.02, 39.72 Rs./share. While on the other side SAPT, SFL and MUREB remained top three price losers with net price change of -44.00, -22.03 and -14.80 Rs./share.

Banks, Technology and Cement sectors remained as volume leaders with net trading volume of 46.89, 42.71 and 20.49 million shares respectively. Miscellaneous, Exploration and Automobile sectors have pushed index into positive zone by adding 22.18, 20.64 and 17.75 points with accumulated average price change of 2.50, 0.49 and 5.00 percent respectively.
