Session Recap
The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 33,379.28pts during current trading session with a negative gap of -305.63pts, later on index tried to recover from negative zone and posted day high 33,893.84pts with net change of 208.93pts in next ten minutes but at that region it lost its momentum and bears took control of market and they pushed index towards 32,416.41pts to post day low where a net change of -1,268.50pts was recorded before day end. While session suspended at 32,616.3pts with net change of -1,067.98pts.
Trading volume at PSX floor inched up today to settle at 240.15 million shares with net change of 24.71 million shares or 11.47% on DoD basis. While on the other side trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled with an increment of 26.19 million shares or 15.38% at 196.44 million shares. BOP, PIOC and MLCF remained volume leaders with net trading volume of 24.61, 20.08 and 15.51 million shares and net price change of -6.59, -7.48 and -0.71 percent respectively.
Today, 337 companies participated in trading at PSX floor and 83 out of these closed with net positive price change while 17 companies closed with no price change but 237 companies closed with net negative price change. BATA, SFL and SHEZ lead the price gainers with net price change of 100.18, 50.59 and 19.01 Pkr/share. While on the other side UPFL, SAPT, INDU remained top three price losers with net price change of -150.00, -65.62 and -63.15 Pkr/share.
Sector Performance
Cement, Banks and OMCs remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 63.39, 45.98 and 20.80 million shares respectively. Banks, Exploration and Cement sectors have dragged index into negative zone by -555.50, -148.28 and -69.67 points with accumulated average price change of -4.65, -3.25 and -1.56 percent.
