Market Evening Wrap 17th Sep. 2020

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 42,539.69pts with a gap of 257.41pts. Later on index posted a high of 42,632.41pts where a net change of 350.13pts was recorded.While a day low of 42,276.59pts with net chage of -5.69pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 42,334.76pts with net chage of 52.48pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 508.69 million shares with net change of 19.09 million shares or 3.90% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also setteld at 324.37 million shares with net change of 24.10 million shares or 8.03%. KEL, HASCOL and DCL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 70.58, 37.39 and 28.13 and net price change of -1.21, -1.54 and 5.44 percent respectively.

Today,350 companies participated in trading at PSX floor and 173 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 13 companies closed with no change but 164 companies closed with net negative price change at day end.HINO, BATA and SCL lead the price gainers with net price change of 40.08, 25.85 and 14.65 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side PAKT, ILTM and WYETH remained top three price losers with net price change of -65.20, -40.50 and -24.00 Pkr/share respectively.

Today POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION, CEMENT and COMMERCIAL BANKS sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 82.76, 65.64 and 54.05 million shares respectively. CHEMICAL, OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES and TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION sectors have supported index by adding 30.41, 15.43 and 13.73 points, while on the other side INSURANCE, FERTILIZER and PHARMACEUTICALS sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -10.85, -8.18 and -4.44 points respectively.
