Session Recap
The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 41,634.70pts with a negative gap of -133.96pts during current trading session, in next half an hour bears pushed the index towards its day low at 41,389.60pts with net change of -379.06pts. Later on bulls took the driving seat and they drive the index towards positive zone and posted day high of 41,920.62pts with net change of 151.96pts. But after losing their control on index day converted into a volatile session and index settled at 41,603.71pts with net change of -164.95pts at day end.
Trading volume at PSX floor dropped by a one third of last trading session to settle at 276.2 million shares with net change of -136.09 million shares or -33.01% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also dropped by 71.03 million shares or 27.98% on DoD basis to settle at 182.86 million shares. BOP, UNITY and FFL lead the volume figures with net trading volume of 15.98, 14.27 and 13.24 million shares with net price change of 2.54, -2.83 and -3.27 percent respectively
Today, 343 companies participated in trading at PSX floor and 106 out of these closed with a positive note while 25 companies with no price change but 212 companies closed with a net negative price change. IDYM, INDU and MEHT lead the price gainers with net price change of 23.50, 20.43 and 20.00 Rs/share. While on the other side NESTLE, PMPK and BATA were remained top three price losers with net price change of -410.00, -82.02 and -51.11 Rs/share.
Sector Performance
Banks, Cement and Power Generation sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 47.06, 32.32 and 21.05 million shares. Investment banks/companies, Power Generation and Miscellaneous sectors have tried to move index in positive zone by adding 50.60, 29.24 and 9.09 points with accumulated average price change of 0.95, -0.83 and -2.50 percent in their respective companies. While on the other side Oil & Gas exploration, OMCs and Cement sectors have dragged index in negative zone by -141.76, -36.68 and -21.88 points with accumulated average price change of -1.98, -1.21 and -0.74 percent.
