Market Evening Wrap 18th Dec. 2020

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 43,866.42pts with a gap of 99.73pts. Later on index posted a high of 43,955.56pts where a net change of 188.87pts was recorded. While a day low of 43,638.33pts with net chage of -128.36pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 43,740.55pts with net change of -26.14pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 482.53 million shares with net change of -14.98 million shares or -3.01% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also setteld at 247.71 million shares with net change of -38.63 million shares or -13.49%. PRL, FFL and KEL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 38.07, 31.50 and 28.65 and net price change of -4.17, 1.92 and 0.78 percent respectively.

Today, 392 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 185 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 18 companies closed with no change but 189 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. RMPL, SRVI and KHTC lead the price gainers with net price change of 300.00, 32.06 and 31.96 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side SFL, ARPL and MTL remained top three price losers with net price change of -42.98, -19.29 and -12.66 Pkr/share respectively.

Today REFINERY, TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION and FOOD & PERSONAL CARE PRODUCTS sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 63.54, 57.52 and 38.15 million shares respectively. OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES, TEXTILE COMPOSITE and ENGINEERING sectors have supported index by adding 23.45, 14.80 and 9.73 points, while on the other side FERTILIZER, CEMENT and AUTOMOBILE ASSEMBLER sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -32.02, -26.89 and -8.10 points respectively.
