Market Evening Wrap 18th Feb. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 46,815.30pts with a gap of 47.16pts. Later on index posted a high of 46,817.51pts where a net change of 49.38pts was recorded. While a day low of 46,120.61pts with net change of -647.53pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 46,142.74pts with net change of -625.40pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 577.84 million shares with net change of -123.82 million shares or -17.65% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 207.94 million shares with net change of -15.59 million shares or -6.97%. DSL, TELE and KEL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 58.67, 34.35 and 29.30 and net price change of -10.00, 6.70 and -1.20 percent respectively.

Today, 366 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 136 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 20 companies closed with no change but 210 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. SAPT, BATA and SUTM lead the price gainers with net price change of 66.75, 58.00 and 42.01 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side NESTLE, MARI and PKGS remained top three price losers with net price change of -78.45, -33.06 and -16.37 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, ENGINEERING and CEMENT sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 117.33, 71.22 and 64.31 million shares respectively. TOBACCO, AUTOMOBILE PARTS & ACCESSORIES and REFINERY sectors have supported index by adding 14.09, 11.41 and 5.60 points, while on the other side COMMERCIAL BANKS, CEMENT and FERTILIZER sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -242.92, -74.00 and -66.08 points respectively.
