Market Evening Wrap 18th Jan. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 45,947.26pts with a gap of 16.26pts. Later on index posted a high of 46,047.56pts where a net change of 116.56pts was recorded. While a day low of 45,714.17pts with net chage of -216.83pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 45,726.68pts with net change of -204.32pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 543.59 million shares with net change of 12.58 million shares or 2.37% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also setteld at 285.14 million shares with net change of 63.21 million shares or 28.48%. TRG, FFL and KEL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 47.59, 44.62 and 33.01 and net price change of 7.23, 6.64 and -3.10 percent respectively.

Today, 391 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 157 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 19 companies closed with no change but 215 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. RMPL, AKDCL and KSBP lead the price gainers with net price change of 99.00, 30.78 and 19.39 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side NESTLE, SFL and PAKT remained top three price losers with net price change of -158.80, -25.00 and -11.49 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION and FOOD & PERSONAL CARE PRODUCTS sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 106.86, 61.70 and 55.43 million shares respectively. TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, COMMERCIAL BANKS and MISCELLANEOUS sectors have supported index by adding 66.11, 31.61 and 12.19 points, while on the other side OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES, POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION and CEMENT sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -93.59, -32.85 and -32.66 points respectively.
