Market Evening Wrap 18th May. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 45,841.10pts with a gap of 44.79pts. Later on index posted a high of 46,033.92pts where a net change of 237.61pts was recorded. While a day low of 45,618.78pts with net change of -177.53pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 45,981.82pts with net change of 185.51pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 536.78 million shares with net change of 99.37 million shares or 22.72% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 216.31 million shares with net change of 14.41 million shares or 7.14%. WTL, TELE and GGL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 49.51, 49.09 and 47.23 and net price change of -1.18, 5.03 and 6.91 percent respectively.

Today, 373 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 175 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 20 companies closed with no change but 178 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. WYETH, RMPL and MARI lead the price gainers with net price change of 89.59, 70.00 and 49.31 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side SAPT, SCL and AKDCL remained top three price losers with net price change of -33.49, -26.50 and -23.85 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, CHEMICAL and REFINERY sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 143.20, 62.63 and 45.75 million shares respectively. OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES, OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES and VANASPATI & ALLIED INDUSTRIES sectors have supported index by adding 81.87, 74.49 and 36.80 points, while on the other side COMMERCIAL BANKS, TEXTILE COMPOSITE and Investment sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -25.31, -16.01 and -10.17 points respectively.
