The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 44,656.59pts with a gap of -164.94pts. Later on index posted a high of 44,990.11pts where a net change of 168.58pts was recorded. While a day low of 44,442.28pts with net change of -379.25pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 44,629.45pts with net change of -192.08pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 248.25 million shares with net change of -86.00 million shares or -25.73% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 102.24 million shares with net change of -49.79 million shares or -32.75%. HUMNL, WTL and HASCOL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 25.10, 20.84 and 13.84 and net price change of 3.02, -4.60 and 5.52 percent respectively.

Today, 339 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 113 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 11 companies closed with no change but 215 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. WYETH, PECO and SAPT lead the price gainers with net price change of 32.24, 24.78 and 24.55 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side SAZEW, SYS and BTL remained top three price losers with net price change of -27.56, -24.37 and -21.49 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, COMMERCIAL BANKS and OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 67.13, 21.52 and 20.00 million shares respectively. OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES, COMMERCIAL BANKS and FERTILIZER sectors have supported index by adding 76.81, 42.13 and 18.77 points, while on the other side TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, CEMENT and ENGINEERING sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -145.89, -46.91 and -27.08 points respectively.
