Market Evening Wrap 19th April. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 44,811.00pts with a gap of -494.63pts. Later on index posted a high of 45,252.10pts where a net change of -53.53pts was recorded. While a day low of 44,777.26pts with net change of -528.37pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 44,913.57pts with net change of -392.06pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 363.04 million shares with net change of 189.52 million shares or 109.22% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 131.25 million shares with net change of 75.97 million shares or 137.41%. WTL, BYCO and TRG remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 101.38, 24.25 and 23.40 and net price change of 8.33, 1.70 and -7.08 percent respectively.

Today, 336 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 102 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 15 companies closed with no change but 219 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. MARI, SAPT and MFFL lead the price gainers with net price change of 46.00, 31.66 and 21.37 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side NESTLE, NRL and SUTM remained top three price losers with net price change of -56.82, -20.69 and -18.67 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, REFINERY and CHEMICAL sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 158.22, 35.39 and 31.10 million shares respectively. FERTILIZER, AUTOMOBILE ASSEMBLER and VANASPATI & ALLIED INDUSTRIES sectors have supported index by adding 23.52, 2.36 and 2.02 points, while on the other side TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION and TEXTILE COMPOSITE sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -141.15, -30.94 and -30.55 points respectively.
