Market Evening Wrap 19th Aug. 2020

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 40,237.68pts with a gap of 53.67pts. Later on index posted a high of 40,424.92pts where a net change of 240.91pts was recorded.While a day low of 40,065.51pts with net chage of -118.50pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 40,154.11pts with net chage of -29.90pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 427.19 million shares with net change of -31.61 million shares or -6.89% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also setteld at 248.94 million shares with net change of -46.96 million shares or -15.87%. PIBTL, PRL and DGKC remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 35.58, 27.57 and 26.78 and net price change of 3.73, 2.51 and 5.87 percent respectively.

Today,340 companies participated in trading at PSX floor and out of these 138 closed with net positive price change. While 20 companies closed with no change but 182 companies closed with net negative price change at day endSAPT, GATI and PICT lead the price gainers with net price change of 25.00, 15.00 and 14.30 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side RMPL, UPFL and MEHT remained top three price losers with net price change of -175.00, -100.00 and -32.00 Pkr/share respectively.

Today CEMENT, POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION and OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 75.97, 48.82 and 45.87 million shares respectively. FERTILIZER, OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES and OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES sectors have supported index by adding 64.08, 46.48 and 9.16 points, while on the other side CEMENT, POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION and TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -32.81, -24.44 and -21.09 points respectively.
