Market Evening Wrap 19th Feb. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 46,137.20pts with a gap of -5.54pts. Later on index posted a high of 46,378.35pts where a net change of 235.61pts was recorded. While a day low of 46,137.20pts with net change of -5.54pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 46,227.65pts with net change of 84.91pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 694.80 million shares with net change of 116.96 million shares or 20.24% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 312.31 million shares with net change of 104.37 million shares or 50.19%. BYCO, WTL and HUMNL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 89.84, 62.28 and 60.25 and net price change of 9.57, 6.00 and 8.56 percent respectively.

Today, 367 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 188 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 11 companies closed with no change but 168 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. MTL, NESTLE and SAPT lead the price gainers with net price change of 90.56, 78.45 and 62.21 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side BATA, ATLH and KSBP remained top three price losers with net price change of -38.58, -28.15 and -20.39 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, REFINERY and COMMERCIAL BANKS sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 218.62, 102.13 and 86.03 million shares respectively. TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, AUTOMOBILE ASSEMBLER and REFINERY sectors have supported index by adding 112.27, 39.12 and 10.83 points, while on the other side CEMENT, POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION and PHARMACEUTICALS sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -31.39, -14.72 and -13.50 points respectively.
