Market Evening Wrap 19th Mar. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 44,671.01pts with a gap of -53.08pts. Later on index posted a high of 45,172.33pts where a net change of 448.24pts was recorded. While a day low of 44,393.28pts with net change of -330.81pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 44,901.31pts with net change of 177.22pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 484.63 million shares with net change of -69.41 million shares or -12.53% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 289.18 million shares with net change of -10.75 million shares or -3.58%. BYCO, KEL and TRG remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 101.38, 38.24 and 30.60 and net price change of 9.96, 3.40 and 1.71 percent respectively.

Today, 339 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 222 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 14 companies closed with no change but 103 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. UPFL, NRL and ISIL lead the price gainers with net price change of 320.00, 36.27 and 29.00 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side NESTLE, INDU and BATA remained top three price losers with net price change of -145.00, -62.90 and -47.00 Pkr/share respectively.

Today REFINERY, TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION and POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 142.05, 82.57 and 49.01 million shares respectively. POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION, OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES and TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION sectors have supported index by adding 58.75, 49.26 and 43.73 points, while on the other side COMMERCIAL BANKS, FERTILIZER and OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -131.71, -72.04 and -28.65 points respectively.
