Market Evening Wrap 19th May. 2020

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 33,929.01pts with a gap of 124.04pts. Later on index posted a high of 34,350.78pts where a net change of 545.81pts was recorded.While a day low of 33,913.07pts with net chage of 108.10pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 34,158.55pts with net chage of 353.58pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 247.42 million shares with net change of -14.52 million shares or -5.54% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also setteld at 168.53 million shares with net change of 23.88 million shares or 16.51%. HASCOL, TRG and MLCF remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 31.66, 16.00 and 12.75 and net price change of 4.58, 1.60 and -0.99 percent respectively.

Today, 340 companies participated in trading at PSX floor and 167 out of these closed with net positive price change. While 29 companies closed with no change but 144 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. NESTLE, WYETH and SAPL lead the price gainers with net price change of 116.25, 71.20 and 71.10 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side UPFL, RMPL and SFL remained top three price losers with net price change of -499.00, -299.00 and -55.00 Pkr/share respectively.

Today OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES, TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION and CEMENT sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 40.02, 35.30 and 32.84 million shares respectively. OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES, PHARMACEUTICALS and OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES sectors have supported index by adding 105.61, 50.38 and 40.49 points, while on the other side CEMENT, FERTILIZER and AUTOMOBILE PARTS & ACCESSORIES sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -14.63, -6.99 and -6.77 points respectively.
