Market Evening Wrap 19th May. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 45,925.17pts with a gap of -56.65pts. Later on index posted a high of 45,951.09pts where a net change of -30.73pts was recorded. While a day low of 45,612.88pts with net change of -368.94pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 45,682.11pts with net change of -299.71pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 578.29 million shares with net change of 41.51 million shares or 7.73% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 297.56 million shares with net change of 81.25 million shares or 37.56%. KEL, UNITY and HASCOL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 65.42, 56.95 and 44.15 and net price change of 5.38, -1.53 and 10.74 percent respectively.

Today, 367 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 141 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 17 companies closed with no change but 209 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. WYETH, MARI and PECO lead the price gainers with net price change of 96.31, 25.38 and 19.38 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side NESTLE, SCL and PMPK remained top three price losers with net price change of -50.00, -20.60 and -20.01 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION and VANASPATI & ALLIED INDUSTRIES sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 121.94, 77.38 and 56.97 million shares respectively. OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES, PAPER & BOARD and GLASS & CERAMICS sectors have supported index by adding 19.85, 8.25 and 7.17 points, while on the other side TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, CEMENT and COMMERCIAL BANKS sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -93.85, -68.95 and -52.59 points respectively.
