Market Evening Wrap 1st April. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 44,705.43pts with a gap of 117.58pts. Later on index posted a high of 44,877.46pts where a net change of 289.61pts was recorded. While a day low of 44,334.22pts with net change of -253.63pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 44,428.10pts with net change of -159.75pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 313.48 million shares with net change of -130.41 million shares or -29.38% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 188.64 million shares with net change of -64.58 million shares or -25.50%. BYCO, TRG and GGL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 30.34, 25.44 and 17.93 and net price change of -3.82, -6.70 and 7.49 percent respectively.

Today, 356 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 99 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 13 companies closed with no change but 244 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. SRVI, GATI and PAKT lead the price gainers with net price change of 84.05, 30.00 and 26.89 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side BATA, PMPK and NRL remained top three price losers with net price change of -84.00, -56.34 and -29.03 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, REFINERY and CHEMICAL sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 73.02, 51.54 and 25.78 million shares respectively. FERTILIZER, Investment and PHARMACEUTICALS sectors have supported index by adding 150.68, 24.22 and 20.05 points, while on the other side TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, COMMERCIAL BANKS and CEMENT sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -143.60, -63.64 and -59.92 points respectively.
