Market Evening Wrap 1st Dec. 2020

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 40,860.87pts with a positive gap of 125.79pts during current trading session and moved towards 41,066.01pts with net change of 330.93pts during first one and half hour but at that region bulls last their control and market slide downward till 40,884.78pts where net change remained only 149.70pts. Later on bulls took control of index again and after a zig zag they pushed index towards its day high at 41,544.05pts with net change of 808.97pts. But after average settlement index closed below key resistant region of 41,500pts with net change of 664.92pts.

Some fresh volumes popped up today at PSX and volume figures surged by 152.9 million shares or 86.32% on DoD basis to settle at 330 million shares. While trading volume of KSE100 index jumped over 100% to settle at 237.45 million shares with net change of 120.26 million shares or 102.60% on DoD basis. KEL, UNITY and FFL lead the volume leaders with net trading volume of 118.96, 26.56 and 17.48 million shares and price change of 8.82, 4.78 and 6.91 percent respectively.

Today, 333 Companies participated in trading at Exchange and 254 out of these closed with a net positive price change while 18 companies close with no change but 61 companies closed with net negative price change. BATA, COLG and SAPT lead the price gainers with net price change of 60.94, 50.00 and 41.00 Rs/share. While on the other side PAKT, SHEL and EFUL remained top three price laggards with net price change of -120.54, -12.67 and -11.57 Rs/share respectively.

Power, Technology and Vanaspati sectors remained volume leaders at PSX with trading figures of 121.02, 30.21 and 26.56 million shares. Banks, Fertilizer and Exploration sectors were top three index movers and these have pushed index by 312.97, 156.03 and 103.45 points in positive direction with accumulated average price change of 2.2, 2.60 and 1.78 percent in their respective companies. While on the other side Tobacco sector have tried to drag index into negative zone by -34.22 points but could not succeed in creating a noticeable impact on index.
