Market Evening Wrap 1st Feb. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 46,611.60pts with a gap of 226.06pts. Later on index posted a high of 46,762.64pts where a net change of 377.10pts was recorded. While a day low of 46,188.25pts with net change of -197.29pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 46,248.45pts with net change of -137.09pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 692.90 million shares with net change of -146.56 million shares or -17.46% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 375.69 million shares with net change of -109.01 million shares or -22.49%. PRL, KEL and PIBTL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 81.62, 65.11 and 62.07 and net price change of 0.59, 2.96 and 3.22 percent respectively.

Today, 386 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 167 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 19 companies closed with no change but 200 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. RMPL, UPFL and AKDCL lead the price gainers with net price change of 294.50, 200.00 and 42.34 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side COLG, PAKT and POML remained top three price losers with net price change of -92.80, -25.36 and -20.47 Pkr/share respectively.

Today REFINERY, TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION and POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 109.44, 104.99 and 85.21 million shares respectively. FERTILIZER, AUTOMOBILE ASSEMBLER and PHARMACEUTICALS sectors have supported index by adding 43.89, 23.56 and 16.14 points, while on the other side CEMENT, COMMERCIAL BANKS and TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -93.26, -79.67 and -49.42 points respectively.
