Market Evening Wrap 1st Jun 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 48,050.85pts with a gap of 154.51pts. Later on index posted a high of 48,237.61pts where a net change of 341.27pts was recorded. While a day low of 47,915.39pts with net change of 19.05pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 48,191.26pts with net change of 294.92pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 1,391.74 million shares with net change of -20.40 million shares or -1.44% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 456.37 million shares with net change of 46.39 million shares or 11.32%. WTL, BYCO and SILK remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 354.08, 94.62 and 86.10 and net price change of -2.18, 2.22 and 3.66 percent respectively.

Today, 397 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 238 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 12 companies closed with no change but 147 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. UPFL, WYETH and RMPL lead the price gainers with net price change of 350.00, 171.76 and 50.00 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side GATI, INDU and SURC remained top three price losers with net price change of -34.50, -12.95 and -12.49 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, COMMERCIAL BANKS and REFINERY sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 501.78, 115.35 and 112.47 million shares respectively. OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES, FERTILIZER and PHARMACEUTICALS sectors have supported index by adding 73.96, 49.67 and 24.72 points, while on the other side AUTOMOBILE ASSEMBLER, OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES and SUGAR & ALLIED INDUSTRIES sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -16.95, -14.17 and -1.06 points respectively.
