Market Evening Wrap 1st Mar. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 45,887.24pts with a gap of 22.22pts. Later on index posted a high of 46,009.38pts where a net change of 144.36pts was recorded. While a day low of 45,092.80pts with net change of -772.22pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 45,593.43pts with net change of -271.59pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 368.33 million shares with net change of -111.65 million shares or -23.26% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 176.29 million shares with net change of -56.79 million shares or -24.37%. ANL, TRG and UNITY remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 31.77, 24.62 and 21.20 and net price change of 2.28, -0.40 and -5.35 percent respectively.

Today, 376 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 95 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 14 companies closed with no change but 267 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. COLG, BATA and SUTM lead the price gainers with net price change of 83.98, 77.00 and 59.76 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side SAPT, KHTC and MEHT remained top three price losers with net price change of -48.67, -37.67 and -36.00 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, TEXTILE COMPOSITE and CEMENT sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 80.61, 38.44 and 38.37 million shares respectively. CEMENT, PHARMACEUTICALS and FERTILIZER sectors have supported index by adding 45.40, 26.00 and 18.83 points, while on the other side OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES, TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION and CHEMICAL sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -48.41, -30.91 and -24.11 points respectively.
