Market Evening Wrap 1st Sep 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 47,488.28pts with a gap of 68.54pts. Later on index posted a high of 47,628.59pts where a net change of 208.85pts was recorded. While a day low of 47,355.14pts with net change of -64.60pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 47,413.46pts with net change of -6.28pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 536.56 million shares with net change of 157.77 million shares or 41.65% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 111.88 million shares with net change of -16.93 million shares or -13.14%. WTL, TELE and GGL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 162.29, 45.13 and 32.74 and net price change of 10.56, 7.04 and 7.49 percent respectively.

Today, 393 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 218 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 15 companies closed with no change but 160 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. UPFL, PMPK and PECO lead the price gainers with net price change of 1359.22, 64.49 and 26.05 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side RMPL, WYETH and BATA remained top three price losers with net price change of -299.00, -52.12 and -43.07 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, CHEMICAL and GLASS & CERAMICS sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 251.74, 41.51 and 25.77 million shares respectively. TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, FERTILIZER and ENGINEERING sectors have supported index by adding 29.46, 22.52 and 12.67 points, while on the other side COMMERCIAL BANKS, CEMENT and AUTOMOBILE ASSEMBLER sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -34.70, -29.47 and -11.99 points respectively.
