Market Evening Wrap 1st jul 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 47,661.17pts with a gap of 305.15pts. Later on index posted a high of 47,843.34pts where a net change of 487.32pts was recorded. While a day low of 47,645.49pts with net change of 289.47pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 47,800.57pts with net change of 444.55pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 759.81 million shares with net change of 210.28 million shares or 38.26% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 139.99 million shares with net change of -13.01 million shares or -8.50%. WTL, SILK and TPL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 199.48, 51.44 and 48.34 and net price change of 3.54, -0.50 and -2.66 percent respectively.

Today, 391 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 274 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 13 companies closed with no change but 104 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. UPFL, COLG and BHAT lead the price gainers with net price change of 616.25, 144.97 and 50.00 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side WYETH, BATA and SAPL remained top three price losers with net price change of -43.55, -42.13 and -20.00 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, COMMERCIAL BANKS and MISCELLANEOUS sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 329.92, 68.22 and 54.26 million shares respectively. CEMENT, OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES and TEXTILE COMPOSITE sectors have supported index by adding 96.79, 83.20 and 40.47 points, while on the other side INSURANCE, TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION and PAPER & BOARD sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -7.45, -5.85 and -2.75 points respectively.
